Considering that with very few skills the pet can both do and sustain more damage than a level 26/28 Golem ever could i really don't see the point.

Oh and the only reason i would ever take a pet to do damage is if it involved an ELITE PET ATTACK.

nice idea, but not over the lvl 20 cap - just an impressive pet(s) that can't be charmed using the normal skill.

How about making it when you charm the animal its lvled to 20 and you get to pick its evolutionary line?

I would like that much more since it takes forever to lvl pets and get them the right evolution.

That wold be great... but... yo'll sil be able to have the same Pet with the old Char Animal?

No one would sacrifice the Elite slot only to take a lvl20 Dire Black Moa, but they'll love a elite that let you chose if you can change to the old Charm Animal after charming with the elite.

If people are prepared to buy FOW armour, they will carry an elite charm animal skill that allows them access to an otherwise unavailable pet.

I would say the idea of it being combo with confort+charm animal is the best. This mean you can have up to 2 pets, so everytime you use a pet attack skill it applies for both pets instead of 1. More than 2 pets I think would be a bit overpowered.

Also charming otherwise uncharmables.. really wont work. The PvE only skills are extremely rare, and this obviously dont fit in for PvP

Yup, unless you put a tamer and some different pet in the Isle of the Nameless, PvP character will always stick with Elder Wolves.

What about making the elite charm allow you to have multiple pets, but you don't keep them?

Regular charm would work as normal. You wouldn't be allowed to have it and the elite version on your skill-bar at the same time. The elite will allow you to tame animals in an instance only. The number you can control at one time depends on your beastmastery level. And finally, the pets "go wild" after a certain time. Instead of dieing like an undead ally, after so long they would turn aggressive toward you, and wouldn't be able to be re-tamed.

I always thought that charm meant temporary, and should allow for multiple pets, so maybe call the elite skill charm, and make the regular "tame beast."

Edit: changed names.

I think the idea of potentially having like a blessed griffon or lightning drake as a pet is an awesome idea, but there -ARE- important balance issues,...I'm thinking a charm beast skill that requires the charm to be "re-energised" or the beast turns enemy. I think not many people would forget to "re-energise" the charm more than once. But what about the skills the beast brings to combat, that really wouldn't be more of a prb than hero's but the best would hafta be promoted to party member.

Ya that was my thought. You are still capped at 1 pet but either one will allow you to use the pet you charmed.

I don't think having multiple pets or charming random monsters is a good idea.

If you had 5 thumpers with 5 drakes you wouldn't be able to move because of their body size. 1 pet is powerfull enough without 8-10 of em on the battle field.

So are you suggesting making the elite form make your pet into a Hero rather than an Ally? Would that give you the ability to give them custom skills?
